We choose a mix of exceptional hotels, Inns and guest houses on or close to the route. Each of the places we use are known to us personally, and we make sure that you have a comfortable and pleasant stay at the end of your day. All our accommodation has ensuite or private bathrooms for twin or double share. If you would like to stay in 4 or 5 star hotels or if you wish to use youth hostel or budget accommodation (note that these options may involve extra transfers), please contact us and we will be happy to provide a quote for your chosen type of accommodation. In most cases your accommodation will serve dinner and will be able to prepare a packed lunch for you. Alternatively you can use our extensive notes to make your own dining and lunch arrrangements using local restaurants, cafes and supermarkets. North Lakes: The nearest railway station is at Penrith on the main North-West rail link between London and Glasgow. From Penrith there are regular buses to Keswick. Central Lakes: The nearest railway station is at Windermere. This station is accessed by a branch line from Oxenholme which is on the main North-West rail link between London and Glasgow. There are regular buses from Windermere to Ambleside. Alternatively, if you are arriving by car we can usually arrange parking and where necessary transfers from the end of your holiday.
